Below are the submission guidelines for Cloudthroat or any of its affiliated programs (e.g. Folio). Any work not following guidelines will be discarded. If accepted in Cloudthroat or any of its affiliated projects, the contibutor agrees to grant Clouthroat First North American Serial Rights. All rights revert back to the poet after publication with permission given to Cloudthroat to archive the work online and consider for any future print anthologies. Contributors also agree to credit Cloudthroat as the first place the work appeared in any future publications. By sending work to Cloudthroat, you agree to the above terms of publication.

In the subject line, please include the category of submission followed by your name (e.g. POETRY/JANE DOE, MICROESSAY / JANE DOE, etc). A cover letter should be included with all submissions. At this time, Cloudthroat is unable to compensate contributors for any accepted material. We hope to begin compensating soon.
Poetry: Please submit refined work of up to 3 unpublished poems (5-page limit). We tend to publish works that are challenging form and language. Review our past issues for an idea of scope.
Micro-Essays: Please submit creative nonfiction, personal, or lyric essays of no more than 1,500 words. You are allowed to only submit 2 pieces. The shorter the better. We love a good lyric essay that moves itself over into poetry or poetics.
Blog posts: Please send an email to regarding your blog pitch or blog post that has already been written for review.
2D - 3D Art: Please submit a scanned image or clear photograph of the piece, including title of piece. You are allowed to submit up to 10 works for consideration.
Photography: Please submit up to 10 photographs in a high-resolution format.
