Eastern Metis artist Colleen Gray grew up in Petawawa, Ontario, Canada; a place made perfect by a local beach, deep-hole swamps, turtle ponds and the beauty of the Canadian Shield - sacred ground for a curious child.
Her ancestry is a mixture of Mik'maq and Irish. Discovering her Indigenous heritage didn't change anything about how she draws or paints - ink doesn't care. Her ancestral origins come from places where people knew how to live and love well and this generous belief system extends to all she meets. View more work here.
